While out visiting my grandmother's grave, I was startled by a commotion in the trees. Crows were flying around and causing a ruckus. I noticed that they were chasing a hawk around. While this was happening, a huge Turkey Vulture dove down from the tree tops and landed on a tombstone a few feet away from me. It was also being chased by crows, but it stood its ground with what I think is a threat display. I'm not familiar with Turkey Vulture behaviors.
When the crows settled down, it looked over at me and kept its wings spread. I tried getting a little closer to this bird to get a better shot, but I failed to capture good quality. My new camera is a little heavier than the last one I owned, and I was nervous about the bird flying at me, so the camera was shaking a bit. The sun was also causing lighting problems. After a while, the bird didn't seem to think of me as a serious threat, and it lowered its wings to start preening its feathers. I walked away a few minutes later without incident, and it was still on the tombstone when I drove off.

man, if vultures and crows can talk to each other I imagine this thing was saying "What, you wanna start something? Come on!" "I thought so <preens>"
